Respected Employee Benefits Attorney David Spaulding Joins Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that David M. Spaulding has joined the firm's corporate and business department as of counsel. Working in the employee benefits group, Spaulding advises clients on matters related to all types of employee benefits, including qualified retirement plans, equity-based compensation arrangements and nonqualified deferred compensation plans.

Spaulding has garnered comprehensive experience that includes advising clients on Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and tax matters in the context of mergers and acquisitions; design, administration and disclosure matters for domestic and international equity-based compensation plans; and reporting and withholding requirements related to compensation and benefits. Most recently, he was counsel in the employee benefits and executive compensation practice at Mayer Brown LLP in its Palo Alto, Calif., office. Spaulding previously worked with Brownstein in 2005. An active author and speaker on employee benefits topics, he recently was a panelist for a teleconference entitled “Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System” hosted by the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.

Spaulding received his Masters of Law in Taxation from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, his law degree from Tulane University Law School and his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Loyola University in New Orleans.
