Las Vegas Native Shawanna Johnson Grows Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Litigation Team

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck continues to attract top associate talent, adding Shawanna L. Johnson, a Las Vegas native, to the firm’s litigation department. Her practice will focus on commercial litigation.

While practicing in New York with Arent Fox LLP, Johnson represented clients in multi-jurisdictional litigation and arbitrations, which included advising victims of a high-profile Ponzi scheme, representing clients in commercial disputes, and handling various labor and employment matters. Also a member of Arent Fox’s white-collar team, she helped defend clients against subpoenas and investigations by the Department of Justice, Attorney General and Inspector General, and assisted with internal investigations and compliance matters. Johnson also excels in the e-discovery process, having led everything from the collection to final production of documents in numerous litigations and investigations, Active in the local community, she was a regular participant in the New York Family Court Volunteer Attorney Program and received the Albert E. Arent Pro Bono Award for service to the public interest. Additionally, Johnson has considerable financial experience, having spent four years as an investment banker and analyst for Fortune 500 companies in New York and Las Vegas.

Johnson received her law degree from the Boston University School of Law, where her activities included serving as an editor for the Review of Banking & Financial Law and president of the Black Law Students Association. She received her bachelor’s degree from Harvard University.
