Ashley Krause

Ashley’s practice focuses on the development, protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, as well as Internet-related matters, privacy compliance, and rights of publicity. She works with clients to identify and protect their intellectual property with the goal of achieving and maintaining a competitive advantage through such protection.

Ashley also manages domestic and foreign trademark and copyright portfolios, and advises clients on legal strategies concerning branding, advertising and promotional activities, and strategic approaches for licensing and enforcing intellectual property rights. Her practice includes the negotiation and preparation of complex intellectual property agreements, including licensing, sponsorship, endorsement and marketing agreements. She regularly works with the firm’s corporate attorneys on intellectual property issues arising in the context of mergers and acquisitions. Over the course of her career, Ashley has litigated a variety of intellectual property disputes in federal court and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Ashley serves as a member of the firm's Pro Bono Committee. Prior to joining the firm, Ashley was an associate at Snell & Wilmer in Denver where she represented clients in product liability and commercial disputes, and Townsend and Townsend and Crew, where she represented clients in intellectual property disputes.

Representative Matters

Represented Lube Distributions Holdings Inc, a portfolio company of KRG Capital Partners in the sale of Petro-Choice, the largest distributor of consumable commercial, industrial and passenger vehicle lubricants in the Mid-Atlantic and Upper Midwest regions of the U.S, to Greenbriar Equity Group.
Represented KSL Capital Partners, LLC as the purchaser in its $130 million acquisition of the Royal Palm Hotel located in Miami Beach, FL, including $90 million of seller financing. Brownstein also negotiated the purchase and sale agreement and seller financing documents, completed due diligence and closed the acquisition in less than 60 days.
Served as counsel to Strategic Analytics Inc., a global software and services company in the retail lending industry, in connection with the sale of all of the outstanding stock of the company.
Represented Hard Rock Hotel Holdings, LLC in connection with the licensing of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa, an Indian casino owned by the Cherokee Nation, and the Hard Rock Hotel and Hard Rock Casino Albuquerque, an Indian casino owned by the Pueblo of Isleta.
