| Barry's practice focuses on First Amendment/defamation and entertainment law, intellectual property and complex commercial and real estate litigation. He represents well-known performers, business people, entertainment companies, corporations and other entities nationwide.
Barry's extensive experience in defamation litigation includes representing a doctor in a libel action against a newspaper publisher, where he obtained one of the largest jury verdicts in the history of California libel law. Barry also obtained a substantial jury verdict in a libel case on behalf of a well-known gaming executive. He has represented a famous comedian in contract and personal injury actions against a Las Vegas hotel and casino-obtaining a substantial jury award, has obtained a jury verdict including an award of treble damages for the producer of a feature film in an antitrust suit against a major film distributor and has successfully defended a major television producer against an accounting fraud action brought by profit participants. Barry has also obtained numerous substantial settlements and jury verdicts on behalf of entertainment personalities in cases against tabloids and in breach of contract actions and accounting.

Barry has served as an instructor for Trial Advocacy and Defamation Law at Southwestern University School of Law and has been a guest speaker for the American Psychiatric Association, American Psychological Association, American Association of Newspaper Publishers, Wisconsin Bar Association and Los Angeles County Bar Association.
