As co-chair and co-founder of the firm’s Energy, Environment & Resource Strategies (EERS) Group, Jon Hrobsky develops creative strategies reflective of the dynamics between federal and state regulators, third-party groups, and federal policy as it relates to domestic energy and natural resource projects. He understands how to move multidimensional projects through the government infrastructure so that operations stay on schedule and government stakeholders are bought in. Jon counsels clients on sequencing their activities appropriately, messaging projects compellingly, and cutting through to decision-makers who can make-or-break a project. He leverages his experience serving as a senior decision-maker at the Department of the Interior, where he played a significant role in developing the administration’s renewable energy rule for offshore wind and oversaw the largest oil and gas lease sale in U.S. history.
Federal officials regard Jon for his ability to present sensible solutions and his relationships extend from career and political staff in the administration to legislators, appropriators and committee staff in Congress. Jon previously served in the administration of George W. Bush, both in Office of the Secretary at the Department of the Interior and as deputy director of the U.S. Minerals Management Service. Earlier, he served in Congress as legislative director to Rep. Bob Schaffer (R-CO) and as a legislative assistant to Rep. Scott McInnis (R-CO).
