Melissa L. Kuipers, chair of the Colorado Convention Committee for the 2012 Republican National Convention and an associate at the law firm of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, announced today that additional appointments have been made to the Convention Committee that will lead and host the events for the Colorado Delegate in Tampa, Fla., during the week of Aug. 27.
“This distinguished team of bright minds comes from a variety of disciplines, from event planning to government consulting,” said Kuipers. “I’m certain this Host Committee will be among the best of its kind in the country and will serve as an effective conduit for facilitating strategic state and national partnerships while highlighting Colorado's significant role in the 2012 Presidential election.”
“Melissa has been doing an outstanding job as chair of the Colorado Convention Committee,” said Ryan Call, Chairman of the Colorado Republican Party. “These newest members of the Committee are not only top professionals in their fields, but have a record of accomplishments and engagement of the business community that few can match,” Call continued. “The Convention Committee will host a great series of events to benefit the members of Colorado’s convention delegation and will leverage opportunities at the Republican National Convention to highlight the great companies and industries of our state in a way that will build awareness and appreciation among opinion leaders around the country.”
New Convention Committee member appointments include Maria Garcia Berry, CEO, CRL Associates; Loren Furman, Senior Vice President for State and Federal Government Relations, Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry; and Marsha Ferm, CEO of Marsha Ferm Consulting. RNC Committeewoman Lilly Nuñez and RNC Committeeman Mark Hillman were appointed this past fall alongside Kuipers.
“We have a busy eight months ahead of us, and we’re excited for the accomplishments this team anticipates,” said Maria Garcia Berry. “We realize the scale of opportunities for our state and Party, and we expect to spark important dialogues among business and community leaders.”
The Colorado Convention Committee is responsible for planning, securing sponsorships for, and hosting a series of events and activities slated for the Colorado delegates and state and federal elected officials participating in the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla.
