Specializes in construction law. Strategic advisor with hybrid practice combining transactional and litigation services. Known by clients as responsive, trustworthy and tenacious.
Chloe Mickel provides comprehensive counsel to real estate developers, design-builders and other construction professionals on multifamily, mixed use, commercial and retail projects. She also has a niche practice representing interior designers. No matter the size of the project, Chloe provides practical advice to her clients, with a focus on mitigating risk in a volatile industry.
In her transactional practice, Chloe drafts and negotiates complex design and construction agreements, including AIA form agreements. She has also worked with many clients to create a library of custom contract forms to suit their business needs. Chloe started her legal career as a litigator and continues to represent clients in litigation and arbitration. She has successfully resolved disputes involving delays, construction defects, design errors and omissions, mechanic’s liens and project closeout.
Chloe is passionate about community engagement. For three years, she served on the board of directors for Denver Urban Gardens, a local nonprofit, and she regularly advises unrepresented litigants through the Colorado Federal Pro Se Clinic. At Brownstein, she mentors associates, serves on the firm’s Summer Associate Committee and was appointed to the Women’s Leadership Initiative Steering Committee.
