Veterans Affairs

Helping businesses interface with the VA

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is the second largest government department—with a budget of over $320 billion and a workforce of over 400,000. VA delivers health care services to veterans at over 1,200 sites of care and through community providers nationwide. It also provides disability compensation, educational assistance benefits, home loan guaranties and lasting memorials to veterans’ honorable service at over 130 national cemeteries. From medical supplies and devices, pharmaceutical products, contracted healthcare, disability examinations and myriad IT and other tools purchased to deliver services, VA’s presence is prominent in communities across the country. The VA also has a unique, and often complex, set of protocols for vendors to comply with in order to do business with the VA.

Led by a former Veterans Affairs secretary along with a team that has unparalleled firsthand experience with the VA and both the Senate and House VA committees, we position clients to capitalize on opportunities for contracting, connecting with key decision makers within VA and on Capitol Hill, and understanding private sector opportunities for department operations. As the nation’s single largest integrated health care system, and as the administrator of the GI Bill and provider of disability compensation for injured veterans, the VA generates over $150 billion in procurement each year. With an aging infrastructure, the expansion of its community care program and need for more research on the health care needs of separating servicemembers and veterans, our team is uniquely qualified and experienced to help clients navigate the often rigid, and always complex protocols of VA. We also believe that by helping our clients we are also helping the VA fulfill its mission which President Lincoln described as caring for those who have served in our nation’s military and for their families, caregivers and survivors.
