Brownstein Volunteers Say ‘Thank You’ to First Responders in Las Vegas Shooting

October 20, 2017

Volunteers in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck's Las Vegas office teamed up to write 120 thank you cards to first responders on the scene during the shooting in the city on Oct. 1. The group sent the messages to the investigators, coroners, paramedics, sheriff’s deputies and firefighters who were involved with the tragic event as part of the firm’s Karma Program.

During a difficult time for Las Vegas, the Brownstein volunteers wanted to put the focus on thanking members of the community for helping hold the city together in the face of tragedy. The office has already seen responses from the effort. Receptionist Dianna Curtis said she received a call from a sergeant with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department thanking her for a card he planned to keep on his desk.

“I told him we wanted to let him know how much we appreciate his service,” Dianna said. “This has truly warmed my heart, and I want to thank our fabulous Karma Committee for the opportunities to reach out to our community.”

Brownstein offers Karma Projects throughout the year designed to give employees, clients, family and friends an opportunity to give back to the communities where they live and work.

Karma Committees in each office help plan and lead “done-in-a-day” volunteer projects and drives to support local nonprofits and individuals in need. Last year, the entire firm participated in more than 40 Karma Projects.
