Jim Nicholson is a featured panel speaker at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation Centennial Celebration co-sponsored by Georgetown University on Oct 25, 2011. The academia symposia will discuss the role of the U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See as a critical tool of U.S.-global diplomacy. Nicholson will focus on key moments in US-Vatican diplomacy, such as the events following the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001 when the U.S. sought Vatican support for its invasion of Iraq. Nicholson served as U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See from 2001 to 2005. He was knighted by Pope John Paul II for his work to slow human trafficking and protect religious freedom.
