Jan 21, 2009

FOREcast, Volume 2, January 21, 2009

FOREcast, a newsletter on funding opportunities for renewable energy, is written by Brownstein's Renewable Energy Group. Included in this issue is a discussion of how the proposed economic stimulus legislation will likely impact the renewable energy industry, issues related to water supply and usage in site selection for consolidated solar projects, and an overview of new funding opportunities and recent DOE funding awards. Of particular note is a pre-bid conference on Xcel Energy’s RFP to acquire substantial new electricity between now and 2015, to be held in Denver on January 28, 2009.

With this periodic newsletter, Brownstein hopes to assist the clean technology community in funding the development and commercialization of clean technologies. FOREcast provides information on the types of projects funded by the federal and state governments, the types of funding instruments used, private companies' input to public agencies for clean tech support, trends in the public support of clean technology and funding awards.

Included in Volume 2 are an update on the renewable-driven economic changes for which President Obama is advocating, tips when siting water use for solar projects and available funding opportunities.
