Nevada employers should pay close attention to a tax bill currently under consideration by the Nevada Legislature. Senate bill 252 includes a new business license fee proposal that bases its fees scale on gross revenue and business type. The bill is getting its first hearing Wednesday.
Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval proposed the business license fee expansion as part of his plan to raise revenue for the state. Sandoval estimates his proposed overhaul of the licensing fee structure would raise about $250 million a year.
The graduated scale, administration and exclusions related to the proposed fees are detailed in a guide provided in PDF form here.
