Pondering the Crossroads: Colorado’s End-of-Life Options Act

In the 2016 election, Colorado voters overwhelmingly supported Proposition 106, the End-of-Life Options Act. As a result, mentally competent adult Coloradans who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness, after consultation with an attending and a consulting physician, may obtain a prescription for medical aid-in-dying medication. The initiative will become effective in early January 2017.
