Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck welcomes Mimi Larsen as of counsel to the firm’s Natural Resources Department. Larsen will be based in the firm’s Denver office.
“Mimi’s experience with the oil and gas industry along with her work at the Colorado Energy and Carbon Management Commission make her a great addition to our Natural Resources Department. Our clients will benefit from her state and federal regulatory experience,” said Natural Resources Department Chair Brad Herrema.
With a primary focus on oil and gas and carbon management, Larsen has extensive experience in state and federal regulatory actions, litigation and implementation of public policy strategies. She previously served as the deputy director of policy and administration for the Colorado Energy and Carbon Management Commission (ECMC). In this role she coordinated policy development and implementation of regulatory programs. She was instrumental in the stakeholder process for multiple high-profile rulemakings before the commission and functioned as a liaison between staff and commissioners. Prior to that, Larsen was an assistant attorney general for the State of Colorado representing the ECMC.
Larsen earned her law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Denver.
