Brownstein Lawyer Edward Barad Recognized Nationally For Outstanding Contributions to Legal Industry

Edward N. Barad, a Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck shareholder, recently received recognition for multiple years from The Best Lawyers in America 2008, Chambers USA, Super Lawyers guides for excellence in the practice of real estate law, and Lawdragon's Top 500 Dealmakers in America. Barad serves as co-chairman of Brownstein’s real estate group, where he represents national and local developers in real estate development, acquisitions and dispositions, corporate restructuring and financing. With more than 30 years of experience in real estate law, he has played an integral role in some of the largest development deals in the western U.S.

A member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, Barad wrote the original rules of the Colorado Bar Ethics Committee and was the chairman and principal draftsman for the committee that published the Colorado Standards for Mortgage Loan Opinion Letters. Additionally, he is a frequent lecturer, and has presented to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the real estate section of the Colorado Bar.

Active in the community, Barad is a director of the University of Colorado Foundation and a member for the United Way de Tocqueville Society. Barad received his juris doctorate from the University of Colorado.

Recognizing attorneys for high achievement in their respective practice areas, Best Lawyers has been regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence since its inception in 1983. The publication is based on an extensive peer review survey through which 13,000 attorneys throughout the country complete more than two million confidential evaluations.

Chambers USA Guide ranks law firms and attorneys on technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client. To compile the fifth edition of the Chambers USA Guide, Chambers & Partners hired a team of 40 full-time researchers to conduct more than 14,000 interviews with lawyers and their clients across the U.S. throughout a six-month period.

Super Lawyers is a listing of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Inclusion in the list is based on a statewide survey of attorneys and nominations. Only 5 percent of the total lawyers in the state are selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers.
