Andrew C. Elliott, an associate at the law firm of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, was recently appointed to the Friends of the Denver Fire Department Board of Directors. As a board member, Mr. Elliott will help guide the strategic direction of the organization and build public awareness about the outstanding needs of the Denver Fire Department and Denver firefighters.
Friends of the Denver Fire Department (FDFD) was founded in 2007 by Denver business owners and community leaders concerned with the lack of city funds for public fire safety awareness campaigns, as well as health and safety initiatives for local fire departments. The FDFD exists to educate the community about the Department and promote fire safety and prevention. It also works to improve the quality of life at local fire stations and is committed to giving Denver firefighters a better chance of returning home to their families at the end of each day. Recent accomplishments of the FDFD include providing heart scans for 300 firefighters, educating more than 50,000 students on fire prevention, and supplying fire houses with exercise equipment and protective bunking gear.
