Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Peter Brown is the new managing partner for its Santa Barbara office. In this role, Brown will be responsible for overseeing strategic growth and management of the firm’s Santa Barbara office. Rob Saperstein is stepping down after seven years in this leadership position to focus on his water and environmental law practice.

Peter is a strong leader and exceptional attorney. We are excited to see where he takes our Santa Barbara office.”
Brown, a leading attorney on land use and environmental entitlement matters, has successfully represented applicants in a wide range of complex land use matters, including development of residential and industrial projects, shopping centers and master plan permits for nonprofit, educational and cultural organizations. He also is the principal attorney in charge of the provision of Brownstein’s legal services to the City of Carpinteria, including legal services as City Attorney. Before joining Brownstein, Brown served as Deputy District Attorney for the County of Santa Barbara and was a shareholder with the law firm of Hatch & Parent in Santa Barbara for 24 years prior to its 2008 merger with Brownstein.
Brownstein has a longstanding history in the Santa Barbara community, emphasizing water, land use, real estate, environmental and natural resource and business law. The firm also is extremely active in the Santa Barbara community providing pro bono legal services, leadership in local non-profit organizations and community service through its “Karma” (volunteer) projects.
