"Trump actually did much better than people thought, under the circumstances. He landed a lot of points on Benghazi, Syria, emails and the like. I think he made the attacks and arguments that Republicans had wanted him to make in the first debate. But the problem for him is that it comes against the backdrop of these incredibly distressing distractions about his awful comments about women, including assault, and I think it will be lost in the noise. That it will swirl into the abyss of his own self destruction. I think that’s just too much trouble for him, you’ve got Republicans leaving him in droves. It’s almost like an elephant stampede."
