Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck Welcomes Peter Ajemian To Las Vegas Office And Establishes Intellectual Property Department

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce the addition of Peter H. Ajemian to its Intellectual Property (IP) Department. Peter will be based in Brownstein’s Las Vegas office and joins the firm as a shareholder. His practice focuses on trademark, copyright and entertainment law. Peter also has significant experience litigating in Federal Courts and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Prior to joining Brownstein, Ajemian was a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig in the intellectual property and technology department. As a former musician he brings a unique perspective to the firms’ clients. He has had more than 40 songs placed in popular network and cable television shows, nationally released movies, and commercials. Through his experience as a songwriter and guitarist, Ajemian offers an inside perspective into the industry, understanding the ins-and-outs, from contract development to establishing copyrights. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Nevada School of the Arts. Ajemian is a graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas William S. Boyd School of Law and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of New York at Buffalo.

“Peter’s unique experience in the music industry will enhance the scope of our talented IP team and offer clients another knowledgeable resource,” said Evan Rothstein, co-chair of Brownstein’s IP Department. “We are confident that his addition to the team will help us continue to build one of the largest IP practices in the Mountain West.”

As part of its commitment to growing the firm’s presence in intellectual property, Brownstein is also pleased to announce the transition of its Intellectual Property Group into its own department within the firm. The IP Department will be Brownstein’s sixth specialty practice and will be co-chaired by Evan Rothstein and Cara Crowley-Weber, shareholders in the Denver office.

“For the first time in over a decade, the time was right to elevate one of our practices to department status,” said Ellen Schulhofer, Brownstein’s co-managing partner. “Our full-service IP Department now includes more than 30 professionals and we are always looking to add the best lateral talent to our team.”
