Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Steven A. Amerikaner, a shareholder at the firm, received the Businessman of the Year Award from the Chamber of Commerce of the Santa Barbara Region for 2015.
“We congratulate Steve on this well-deserved recognition,” said Peter Brown, managing partner of Brownstein’s Santa Barbara office. “The award not only reflects Steve’s professional accomplishments but also the years of community involvement that have characterized his career. We are immensely proud of his continued commitment to not just professional excellence, but also service to community.”
Amerikaner was honored with the award at the chamber’s annual meeting on January 29. He expressed genuine shock when he learned of the award and that his family had been in on the surprise. As a member of Brownstein’s real estate and natural resources groups, Amerikaner focuses on land use and environmental issues. He has more than 30 years of experience representing property owners and businesses seeking development permits and other governmental approvals.
Amerikaner has a long history of community involvement, including serving as chair of the Santa Barbara Jewish Federation, the Coastal Housing Partnership, the Chamber of Commerce, the Santa Barbara Business Leaders Council and Santa Barbara Hillel. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Cate School and the Central Coast Judicial Selection Advisory Committee which advises the Governor on judicial appointments.
The Chamber of Commerce of the Santa Barbara Region seeks to enhance and promote the regional economic environment through support of their members and collaboration with business, government and community resources. For more information on the chamber, visit: http://www.sbchamber.org/.
