Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Michael Freimann has joined the firm’s Employment Group and Litigation Department as a shareholder. He will be based in the firm’s Denver office. A senior employment and litigation attorney, Freimann has nearly 20 years of experience including a decade of in-house experience, an extensive trial and litigation record, expertise as a traditional labor law attorney and numerous years as a military attorney.
“Michael understands the nuances of navigating through complicated labor and employment laws,” said Rich Benenson, co-chair of Brownstein’s Litigation Department. “As a former assistant general counsel for a Fortune 200 company with more than 70,000 employees and multiple subsidiaries, Michael understands and appreciates both the legal and business needs of his clients.”
Prior to joining the firm, Freimann was the assistant general counsel for DaVita, Inc., where he served as the senior employment litigation attorney. He advises clients on a full spectrum of employment and commercial disputes and draws on his in-house experience to strategize with clients to create favorable solutions and outcomes. Additionally, Freimann handles all types of traditional labor issues including union organizational issues, National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) advice and litigation, unfair labor practice charges, management and supervisory training, collective bargaining, grievance administration and labor arbitration.
Freimann is the staff judge advocate for the Colorado Air National Guard and holds the rank of lieutenant colonel. In this role, he acts as the general counsel for commanders and first sergeants, providing advice and guidance on a wide range of military legal issues.
Freimann earned his law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his bachelor’s degree at Lafayette College.
