Brownstein is pleased to announce that Greta H. Joynes has joined the firm’s Government Relations Department as a policy advisor and will be based in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office.
“After more than a decade working for Congressman John Shimkus, Greta brings a broad policy background as well as experience with the complex and fast-paced world of telecommunications,” said Elizabeth Gore, chair of the firm’s Government Relations Department. “Greta is a great addition to our expanding team of bipartisan, top-tier political and legal counsel.”
Most recently, Joynes served as deputy chief of staff and legislative director for Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL). While in this position, she was a key staffer handling issues on the Energy and Commerce Committee. Joynes worked for Congressman Shimkus since 2003 and handled a range of issues over that period, most notably telecommunications policy where she was the lead staffer for many years. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University.
In addition to Joynes, Brownstein, ranked No. 2 on the list of federal lobbying shops based on revenue, recently added Darien Flowers, Travis Norton and David Reid as policy advisors based in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office.
