Ari Zimmerman Joins National Defense Industrial Association’s Board of Directors

January 08, 2020

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Ari Zimmerman, a policy advisor in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office, has joined the board of directors of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA)’s Washington, D.C., chapter. The NDIA drives strategic dialogue in national security by identifying key issues and leveraging the knowledge and experience of its military, government, industry and academic members to address them.

In his role at Brownstein, Zimmerman offers key insight into legislative strategies pertaining to national defense, foreign affairs, homeland security and the military. Prior to Brownstein, he spent eight years in the House of Representatives and served as a professional staff member on the House Armed Services Committee, part of a small group of senior staff tasked with carrying out Chair Mac Thornberry’s (R-TX) agenda, including securing annual bipartisan support for the National Defense Authorization Act.

“I have spent the majority of my career working in the national security policy arena, and I’m passionate about those organizations that work toward advancing U.S. national security interests,” he said. “Serving on this board will allow me the opportunity to stay on the cutting edge of issues facing our nation’s security and defense industrial base matters, and will serve as a platform to give back to those that defend our nation.”
