Zach Mauldin leverages his blend of compliance and policy expertise to ensure Brownstein’s Government Relations Department meets all state and federal standards for lobbyist reporting.
Throughout his career, Zach has amassed a rich understanding of campaign finance regulations and lobbying disclosure requirements. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a compliance manager for Aristotle International, where he managed accounts and filed campaign finance reports to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and various state and local jurisdictions for a wide variety of clients, including corporations, trade associations and political parties. Before his time at Aristotle International, Zach worked at the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP) as a compliance officer, where he represented MPP and associated ballot initiative campaign committees in a legal and strategic capacity. In his role, Zach ensured campaign finance compliance for initiative campaign committees in eight states and served as a trusted advisor to each state’s respective staff.
Earlier in his career, Zach served in the Vermont General Assembly as staff attorney to the Vermont Legislative Council. While there, he drafted bills and amendments for legislators and provided oral testimony in committee meetings as key legislation was being considered.
