Kortz, Donald L.

Don Kortz is a real estate legend. He uses his more than 40 years of experience in all aspects of commercial real estate to advise the firm’s clients on critical real estate issues. During his career, Kortz was vice chairman of Cushman & Wakefield, one of the largest global real estate service companies. He has served as a consultant to major corporations, professional organizations and health institutions in their expansion, contraction and relocation needs.

Kortz is a pillar of the Denver community dedicating substantial time and talent to a number of nonprofit and civic organizations. He was the first president and CEO of the Rose Community Foundation, an organization created from the proceeds of the sale of Rose Medical Center. He also served as chairman of the board of Rose Medical Center, chair of Children’s Hospital Colorado, chair of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the boards of National Jewish Health, HealthONE, Mizel Museum and the Denver Zoo. He served on the boards of top organizations including Omnibanks, Commercial Assets, Asset Investors, Key Bank of Colorado, Merchant’s Mortgage of Colorado and as a director of Steele Street Bank & Trust (MidFirst Bank).

He was appointed by former Colorado Gov. Bill Owens to the Task Force on Child Welfare and by former Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter to the Blue Ribbon Commission for Health Care.

  • Represented Rose Community Foundation in the purchase of the Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center (JCC Denver) campus and leaseback of the campus to JCC Denver for a term of 100 years at $1 per year.
