With a knack for untangling complex legal issues, Marckia Hayes brings a deep well of insight and analytical skills to her litigation practice at Brownstein.
Prior to joining Brownstein, Marckia was a law clerk for Justice Michael L. Douglas of the Nevada Supreme Court, assisting the court in making precedential legal determinations on a variety of matters including corporate and contractual, insurance, workers’ compensation, constitutional, legal malpractice, defamation, real property and antitrust. She also served as a judicial extern for Judge Richard F. Boulware of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada, where she handled her own caseload and refined her knowledge of civil issues, and a judicial intern for Judge Richard Scotti of Nevada’s Eighth Judicial District.
During law school, Marckia was a teacher assistant. In that role, she mentored first-year law students by helping them strengthen their legal arguments, editing briefs and getting prepared for moot court. She was also an active member of the Society of Advocates, the moot court competition team.
