Brian draws on his relationships with the Democratic Party and deep procedural knowledge of the U.S. Senate to generate traction for his clients’ priorities in Washington, devising engagement strategies and messaging points that dovetail with caucus politics. A leading Senate strategist, Brian identifies, secures and preserves appropriations funding, and primarily focuses on policy issues related to agriculture, sustainability, corporate compliance, supply chain transparency, and technology.
From small businesses to Fortune 50 corporations, Brian assists many of his clients in the development and implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaigns, and engages federal policymakers to promote key initiatives. He is also adept at uniting the private sector to galvanize support for issues in Washington; Brian skillfully builds and manages coalitions, keeping member interests aligned.
Before joining the private sector, Brian served as the legislative director and acting chief of staff for Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), where he was the senator’s principal advisor on all legislative, policy and regulatory matters. Additionally, Brian was senior counsel for Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA), where his legislative portfolio included financial services, telecommunications, technology, intellectual property, tax, trade, appropriations, labor, election reform, agriculture, immigration, gun control and judicial nominations. Brian served in senior roles for both Shaheen and Boxer’s Senate campaigns, and as a deputy voter protection director to Obama for America.
