Over her more than two-decade legislative, political and managerial career, Lori Harju has developed an in-depth knowledge of the legislative and executive branches, as well as in the private sector.

She brings her bipartisan, bicameral background to her focus areas on taxes, energy, healthcare and international trade at Brownstein. 

Lori brings a wide array of private and public sector legislative experience to her work with clients. Her background includes the creation and execution of strategic plans based on policy, political and public relations implications for four Members of Congress.  Most recently for U.S. Representative Kevin Brady (R-TX), Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. In the Chairman’s personal office, she served as his Chief of Staff as well as Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director working on behalf the people of Texas. Lori was also the Senior Advisor at Ways and Means.

Her broad career experience provides her with the ability to address issues concerning not only the public sector, but private sector interests as well.

While working as a political appointee for President George W. Bush, Lori was the head of all congressional and intergovernmental affairs for the International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce. There, she provided strategic counsel to senior officials within the Bush Administration and was the primary liaison to all House and Senate Members and staff on the passage of trade agreements, enforcement of international trade laws (AD and CVD laws and cases), promoting American exports, intellectual property rights protection, market access and compliance.
