In the modern era of hyperpartisanship, the never-ending battle for power has led to a destructive and dysfunctional culture where the art of compromise has not only been lost, it is often punished. That’s why it is important to shine a bright light on elected officials who are working to change the script.
Former Colorado House Speaker Terrance Carroll said he “was shocked in a good way” when he learned that current the current speaker of the House, a Democrat, had appointed a Republican as the vice-chair of a committee, passing over members of his own party for the honor.
