Legislation Before Congress Could Reshape Crypto’s Future

The price of bitcoin is up 37% since July 25, 2022.[1] And the market is still enthusiastic about recent filings by Blackrock for approval to offer a bitcoin exchange traded fund, or ETF, notwithstanding the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's request for additional information about its application.[2]
Reacting to news of the Blackrock filing, market analysts like Barron's predicted that financial institutions would flock to crypto.
Maybe we are enjoying a Caribbean vacation from crypto winter, and will soon return to the icebox trends of low-volume trading, falling values and shuttered projects. Or maybe the crypto winter has started to thaw. It is hard to say what the future holds.
