Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce the addition of Timothy Keating as a policy director in the firm’s Washington, D.C., Government Relations Department. With over three decades of high-level legislative and political experience, Keating is among the leading strategic advisors for CEOs of major industries on how to best navigate the Washington landscape.
“Tim is a tour de force in Washington. He is an all-star who adds considerable talent, experience and depth to an already amazing Brownstein team,” said Marc Lampkin, Brownstein’s Government Relations Department chair.
Previously, Keating served as executive vice president of government operations for The Boeing Company, the world’s largest aerospace company. At Boeing, Keating served as a member of the company’s Executive Council and led the company’s public policy efforts, including all U.S. federal, state and local government liaison operations. He also led Boeing’s Global Corporate Citizenship organization.
As senior vice president of global government relations at Honeywell International, Keating worked closely with Congress along with a wide range of CEOs, CFOs and general counsels in formulating and communicating public-policy recommendations. Prior to that he was chairman of the board and managing partner at Timmons and Company. During the Clinton administration, Keating served as special assistant to the president and staff director for White House Legislative Affairs. At the request of the White House, he served as director for government affairs and co-director of credentials for the Presidential Inaugural Committee in 1997 and the 1996 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. He assisted in the preparation and logistics for presidential and vice presidential debates, and in both 2000 and 2004 served as director of government affairs and co-director of credentials for the Democratic National Conventions in Los Angeles and Boston.
Before joining the Clinton administration, Keating held several positions with the United States House of Representatives. He served as assistant floor manager for the Democratic leadership from 1986‒1992 and, prior to that, as special assistant to the doorkeeper.

Keating is a member of the CSIS Advisory Board, SOME Corporate Advisory Board, board of directors for the National Association of Manufacturers, board of directors for Signature Theatre, WETA Board of Trustees and the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts Board of Trustees.
Keating received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Scranton and an honorary doctorate of business administration from the University of South Carolina.
