Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Mike Smith, an associate in its Denver office, was recognized with the firm’s 2021 Mentor Award. The award honors a mentor/diversity advocate who most displays the firm’s core values—All In, Excellence, Respect and Giving Back—in his or her mentor/advocate role.
A member of the firm’s Natural Resources Department, Smith represents water and wastewater utilities, project developers, mining companies, oil and gas companies, lenders, investors, and nonprofits in compliance counseling, transactions, and various stages of civil, criminal, and administrative litigation spanning a wide variety of complex natural resources matters.
“Mike is a really high-quality person and a natural leader who is an asset in our firm,” Smith’s mentee wrote in his nomination. “He has been an exceptionally helpful presence in my career.”
Smith was recognized at the firm’s All Attorney/Policy Professional Virtual Retreat on Oct. 14.
