Amy Steinfeld & Brad Herrema Named Water & Wastes Digest 2017 Young Water Professionals
Water & Wastes Digest has named Brownstein’s Amy Steinfeld and Brad Herrema 2017 Young Water Professional honorees. The 2017 Young Professional award highlights noteworthy rising stars in the water industry who have demonstrated exemplary performance in a water-related field.
“Brad and Amy are both smart, hardworking attorneys committed to finding innovative solutions for their clients’ most complicated water law issues,” said Steven Amerikaner, managing partner of the Santa Barbara office. “Both have extensive experience effectively and successfully navigating California’s complex land use and water laws, enabling them to efficiently move projects forward and achieve successful results for clients.”
Amy, a shareholder in the Santa Barbara Office, regularly advises water districts, regulated utilities, cities, developers, and agricultural interests in all aspects of water law. Her practice focuses on the intersection of land use and water law, enabling her to advance and defend complex projects throughout the state. She has expertise in water rights permitting and due diligence, CEQA compliance, complex groundwater adjudications, water transfers, urban water management planning, water supply evaluations, Endangered Species Act compliance, and all other matters associated with the use, conveyance, development and management of surface and groundwater supplies and infrastructure.
Brad is a shareholder in the firm’s Los Angeles office where he is the head of the firm’s California Water Group. He works with clients in California and the western U.S. to develop innovative strategies to secure and protect their water-related interests. He is leading clients, during California’s record-breaking drought, with integrated water supply planning, water rights permitting and regulatory compliance, adjudications of groundwater rights and compliance with the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act, water utility concerns, Indian water rights and environmental matters affecting water use, such as CEQA compliance and water quality issues, including those under the Clean Water Act.
