Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Barbara Mica has joined the firm as its chief operating officer (COO). As COO, Mica will lead all administrative and operational functions of the firm including administration, business development/marketing, communications, human resources, information technology, professional development and recruiting. She will be based in the Denver office and work directly with the firm’s managing partner and Executive Committee.
“Barb’s experience and business approach align seamlessly with our core values and we are thrilled to welcome her to the firm,” said Adam Agron, managing partner of the firm. “She brings a strong background in law firm leadership and deep industry expertise, which will be essential as we transition to a second-generation firm.”
Prior to joining the firm, Mica served as Munger, Tolles & Olson’s COO, overseeing the operations across three offices. Holding the most senior non-attorney position in the firm, she had experience leading and directing day-to-day operations and major initiatives in collaboration with the firm’s co-managing partners. Before joining Munger Tolles, Mica served for 11 years as the COO of Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie, where she was responsible for strategic and operational direction. Prior to that, she served as vice president-finance for Enterprise Management Associates, and held senior leadership roles with Arthur Andersen.
“I am delighted to join the talented business leadership team at Brownstein. The firm lives and breathes its culture of excellence, and its commitment to clients and community. I am honored to be entrusted with preserving its values in a time of rapid change in the legal industry.”
Mica received her master’s degree from The George Washington University and her bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University.
