Brownstein Lobbyists Earn Spots on The Hill’s 2023 Top Lobbyists List

Norm Brownstein, Marc Lampkin, Al Mottur, Greta Joynes and Zach Pfister, all members of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Government Relations Department, were listed among the most influential lobbyists in D.C. by The Hill. In its 2023 Top Lobbyists list, the publication recognized impactful advocates who deliver results for their clients, companies, trade associations and advocacy groups.

Chairman and Founder Norm Brownstein has earned the respect and trust of leaders on both sides of the aisle, which is why U.S. Senators Ted Kennedy and Hank Brown honored him with the title of "America's 101st Senator." He opened a government relations office in Washington, D.C., in 1995, which has grown into one of the largest, most successful bipartisan government relations practices in the U.S. Chairman Brownstein has impacted our nation’s public policy for over four decades, and the D.C. office’s success can be credited to his passion for political advocacy and relentless pursuit of solutions to clients’ problems.

Marc Lampkin is a highly respected advisor and veteran Republican lobbyist, bringing years of political, legislative and campaign experience to bear for his clients. His years on the Hill, campaign experience and extensive relationships with administration officials and staffers at policy think tanks, trade associations and the media have made him a trusted unofficial advisor for numerous members of Congress, cabinet officials and other leading Washington policymakers. Al Mottur is a member of the firm's Executive Committee and a senior Democratic strategist who solves the most complex and thorny political issues clients face in Washington, D.C. As co-chair of the firm’s technology and telecommunication practice, Mottur engages federal policymakers as they develop legislation and regulations to address emerging technologies, data privacy, Big Tech, competition law and infrastructure.  

Greta Joynes is co-chair of the firm’s technology and telecommunications practice. As federal policymakers consider industry-altering laws and regulations on data privacy, supply chain security, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, energy, infrastructure and transportation, Joynes positions companies for success. Her technical understanding of clients’ businesses and political intuition on when and how to engage the government on their behalf has resulted in market-changing outcomes for small business coalitions, Series-A startups and Fortune 15 corporations.

Zach Pfister has over 17 years of experience in government, politics and advocacy and has built a large network of personal relationships with his former peers on Capitol Hill that extend across the House Democratic Caucus. Pfister’s reputation as a trusted intermediary and advocate, coupled with his substantive policy expertise and political instinct, have created a long record of success in shaping client outcomes in Congress. As co-chair of Brownstein's financial services practice, Pfister has extensive experience in cooperative finance, agricultural finance, retail banking, payments technology and housing.
