Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that it has been recognized by WomenInc. Magazine as one of its 2019 “Top 100 Law Firms for Women.” The listing acknowledges law firms for their inclusive, equitable and sincere commitment to advancing opportunities for women.
WomenInc. Magazine recognized law firms that have a demonstrated track record of commitment through holistic actions, including hiring and retaining female attorneys, promoting female attorneys into equity partnership ranks, providing leadership positions to female attorneys and enhancing initiatives and programs dedicated to the mentoring, sponsorship and promotion of female attorneys.
“We are honored to receive this noteworthy recognition from WomenInc. Magazine,” said Shareholder Ali Metzl, who founded and co-chairs Brownstein’s Women’s Leadership Initiative and its Committee on Diversity, Inclusion & Equity. “Over the past several years, Brownstein has introduced a variety of unique and impactful programs and initiatives to support and advance female lawyers and policy professionals at the firm and continues to make great strides in this space.”
In 2018, Brownstein introduced a “Transitions Matter” suite of programs, including a reduced billable hours requirement following parental leave and a reduced work schedule policy. Earlier this year, the firm enhanced medical and parental leave for childbirth and adoption, introduced backup care and additional family support benefits, continued its commitment to developing books of business for female lawyers through the Daunting to Doable coaching program, and launched a working parents’ network to provide additional information and support for parenting attorneys and policy professionals.
In addition to this honor, the firm is proud of its achievement of Mansfield Certification from the Diversity Lab for the second consecutive year and commitment to participate in Mansfield 3.0, ranking fifth on The American Lawyer’s list of firms with the highest percentage of female equity partners and being recognized as one of Working Mother’s 2019 “Best Law Firms for Women.”
