Brownstein Names Craig Hemenway Chair of Intellectual Property Department
Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Craig Hemenway, a shareholder in the firm’s Denver office, has been named chair of the Intellectual Property Department.
As the firm’s lead patent attorney for high-tech matters, Hemenway works with both startups and major corporations, including some of the world’s most valuable technology companies, managing complex portfolios of patent assets. His practice focuses on helping clients in the technology sector develop strategies that enable them to leverage intellectual property assets to achieve marketplace prominence.
Hemenway offers clients broad expertise in identification, protection and management of intellectual property assets, licensing intellectual property, preparing and prosecuting patent applications, enforcing intellectual property rights through litigation and providing infringement and patentability opinions.
“Since joining Brownstein in 2013, Craig has been an integral member of the firm and IP Department and has helped build it into what it is today,” said Rich Benenson, the firm’s managing partner. “We are confident that through his leadership, the department will continue to be at the forefront of IP law.”
Brownstein’s Intellectual Property Department understands the critical role that IP law plays in protecting a company’s most important assets. The firm draws on experience from scientists with advanced degrees, engineers and in-house counsel at national technology companies to bring a variety of perspectives and backgrounds together for the creation, protection, enforcement and monetization of intellectual property. Brownstein’s full-service IP department is highly regarded for its patent prosecution, patent and IP litigation, product clearance, non-infringement and invalidity opinions, brand management and trademark prosecution.
