Jack Hobaugh Appointed IAPP KnowledgeNet Denver Chapter Chair

Jack Hobaugh, a shareholder in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Corporate & Business Department, has been appointed to a two-year term as chair of the International Association of Policy Professionals (IAPP) KnowledgeNet Denver chapter. In his role, Hobaugh will help the IAPP build the privacy profession in Denver through valuable educational and networking opportunities.

“I’m honored to serve as chair and use my expertise to contribute meaningfully to the Denver chapter and local privacy community,” said Hobaugh.

Hobaugh combines his global software, database and network engineering experience with his legal practice to focus on technology transactions, cybersecurity law and privacy law. A certified information privacy professional, Hobaugh uses his in-house experience serving as a data protection officer and an incident response team member to provide legal and cybersecurity guidance to his clients. His work includes privacy trainings, regulatory inquiries and negotiating privacy and security agreements, such as data privacy/protection agreements and data protection impact assessments. An adjunct professor and author of four books on cybersecurity law, Hobaugh is sought-out counsel for incident response, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate transactions. Hobaugh is also a member of the Brownstein Crisis Management Group. Prior to joining Brownstein, Hobaugh served as senior corporate counsel – privacy and security, data protection officer in the education technology field covering all areas of privacy and cybersecurity law and compliance.
