Jayme Ritchie, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s director of pro bono and community impact, has been appointed to the board of directors of Denver Film, Colorado’s only nonprofit theater, which is dedicated to engaging both its members and the general public in a lifelong relationship with film.
Ritchie will serve on the board of directors for a three-year term. She is passionate about the power of film and cinema to foster creativity, community connection and cultural growth. Growing up in New York, she was immersed in a vibrant arts environment, and she looks forward to contributing to Denver Film as it continues expanding the community’s exposure to diverse cultures and perspectives.
“Film offers audiences the opportunity to step into experiences they may not otherwise have,” she said. “ In the current climate, where polarization and fragmentation is a common feeling, film has the ability to serve as a unifying force through storytelling, visual imagery and emotional connection. While I have always enjoyed watching films and visiting the movie theater, as an adult I recognize the significance and potential these films and theaters have for the community.”
Denver Film operates the Sie FilmCenter, presents the annual award-winning Denver Film Festival and a series of spotlight festivals throughout the year. In addition, Denver Film produces the popular summer movies series, Film on the Rocks, at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. For more information, visit https://www.denverfilm.org/.
