Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Kristin Macdonald, a shareholder in the firm’s Denver office, has been named chair of Brownstein’s national Hospitality, Resort and Recreation Group, effective June 1, 2019.
A member of Brownstein’s Corporate Department and a talented dealmaker, Macdonald focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and hotel and resort purchases and sales. She represents companies and private equity firms in the hospitality industry, including hotels and resorts, high-end fitness clubs, ski resorts, golf courses and other travel and leisure-focused businesses, as well as lifestyle consumer products companies. Macdonald’s notable successes include representing Brookfield Asset Management in its sale of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas; KSL Capital Partners in its acquisition and sale of the Miraval Hotels and the related Miraval Brand to Hyatt Hotels; Miller Global in its sale of the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa to Blackstone; The Bay Club Company (a portfolio company owned by an affiliate of KKR) in its acquisition of four Club Sport swim and tennis clubs and a Marriott branded hotel from affiliates of Leisure Sports, Inc.; and Gaiam, Inc., in its sale of Natural Habitat Adventures to Lindblad Expeditions Holding, Inc.
Brownstein’s Hospitality, Resort and Recreation Group focuses on providing comprehensive legal services to hotels, resorts, casinos and other clients operating in the travel and leisure sector across the country—including some of the biggest names in this industry.
