Kristina Baum, public affairs senior manager at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, has joined the board of directors of the Prince William Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PWSPCA), a nonprofit organization serving animals in the greater Prince William County, Virginia, area.
In her role, Baum will serve as the primary liaison to the Prince William County Animal Services Center, which includes a full veterinary suite to examine and treat animals turned into the shelter. Baum has fostered cats and kittens through the PWSPCA for nearly two years, caring for more than 35 animals—each of which has since been adopted into a permanent home.
Baum has been involved with animal care her entire life and has long supported local animal shelters. She looks forward to leveraging her experience as a senior communications consultant and her prior work with the American Veterinary Medical Association to support the shelter’s veterinary care team through advocacy, community engagement and efforts to maintain and enhance veterinary equipment, supplies and medications.
“This particular board at PWSPCA has served as a longtime established backbone of the community here in Northern Virginia,” she said. “Being able to serve on such a dynamic board with incredible dedication to the welfare of animals and pet owners in our community is truly an honor. With PWSPCA, I saw an opportunity to apply my passion for quality veterinary care and support for the needs of the veterinarian-led care team.”
