Laura M. Bennett passed away May 7 at Littleton Adventist Hospital. She was born May 14, 1968, to Larry Bennett and Charlotte Crites in Wichita, Kansas. Laura graduated from Alameda High School in Lakewood, Colorado.
In 2001, Laura was hired by Denver law firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck to be Chairman Norm Brownstein’s executive assistant. She spent 21 years at the firm and helped Norm, Steve Farber and Jack Hyatt, the firm’s founders, build the firm into national prominence. During her time working with Norm, the firm became the largest lobbying firm in the U.S. Senators, congresspeople and staffers in Washington, D.C., held a special admiration for Laura.
Laura loved animals—especially her three dogs: Charli, George and Olli, her newest addition. She was a dedicated supporter of several animal rescues—from small to big animals.
Laura is survived by Norm, Sunny, Callae, Chad, Lauren and Bo Brownstein as well as 600 friends and colleagues at Brownstein. She is also survived by her mother Charlotte, brother Larry Bennett and her beloved friends Tammy Wertz, Marybeth Vasco, Holly Waugh and Mackenzie L. Colonius.

A funeral service will be held at Temple Emanuel on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 10:30 am—livestream on the Feldman Mortuary YouTube channel—with burial immediately to follow at Emanuel Cemetery, within Fairmount Cemetery. Reception at the Clayton Members Club & Hotel from 12:30-2:30 pm.
