Mike King, a shareholder in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Corporate and Business Department, was recognized by Denver7 with their Everyday Hero Award, which is presented to Coloradans who are making a difference in their communities.
King was honored for founding the firm’s Corporate Pro Bono Clinic, which connects attorneys with nonprofits seeking legal assistance. The clinic helps organizations with everything from bylaws and nonprofit formation to governance, mergers, liability and intellectual property issues. King also serves as a mentor to younger attorneys, teaching them how to assist nonprofits while fostering a culture of volunteerism.
“If folks hadn’t invested in me, I’d be nowhere today,” King said in a Denver7 profile. “Mentorship and paying it forward, it makes the whole world go round.”
