Robert Bacaj and Max Porteus Appointed to Wish for Wheels Partner Board
Robert Bacaj and Max Porteus, associates in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Litigation Department, have been appointed to the partner board of Wish For Wheels, a nonprofit organization that serves second graders in Title I schools with new bikes and helmets through unforgettable team-building experiences.
Bacaj and Porteus will help expand the organization’s reach and support its work by attracting, engaging and retaining partners to fund, build and give bikes to second graders in their communities.
“I am a huge advocate of bikes and bicycling,” said Bacaj. “In addition to providing freedom and personal growth and promoting a healthy lifestyle, they’re fun! There’s nothing like riding down an empty street, trail or road and feeling the wind in your face. I strongly support Wish for Wheels’ mission to give a bike to every second grader in Denver, and I’m excited to meet and work with other community leaders with the partner board to make a difference and further that mission.”
“Wish for Wheels blends two of my favorite things: cycling and working with students,” said Porteus. “I have been cycling and bike-commuting for nearly 10 years, and before I became a lawyer I taught middle school English in Denver Public Schools (DPS). There are few things more exciting or empowering than being able to get all over town on my bike. I want to give DPS students that same opportunity, and I look forward to partnering with Wish for Wheels to do so.”
