Sarah Murray Receives 2022 Native American Indigenous Leadership Award from Profiles in Diversity Journal
Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Sarah Murray, a shareholder in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office, was recognized as a 2022 Native American Indigenous Leadership Award recipient from Profiles in Diversity Journal. For more than two decades, Profiles in Diversity Journal has showcased and honored individuals who have blazed new trails, led the way, mentored others, advanced diversity and inclusion in the workplace and the community, and excelled in their chosen fields.
Murray provides counsel on laws, regulations and legislation related to administrative law, regulatory compliance, land use, Indian affairs and tribal gaming. Her experience serving as an attorney at multiple federal agencies and rich knowledge of the historical, legal and constitutional underpinnings of the relationship between Indian tribes and the U.S. government makes her an asset to both tribal nations and the companies that do business with them. She advocates for tribal nations and represents their interests in high-level interactions with the U.S. government, whether she is navigating regulation of tribal water systems or channeling federal investment into Indian country. She conducts pre-investment due diligence for renewable energy, natural resource and corporate gaming companies and navigates complex issues related to sovereign immunity and tribal law.
In her profile, Murray discusses the significance of the mentors and trailblazers in her life and how they have played a large role in her career path.
