Stephanie Hastings Recognized as a 2026 Top Woman Lawyer by Daily Journal
Stephanie Hastings, a shareholder in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Natural Resources Department and member of the firm’s Executive Committee, was recognized by Daily Journal on its 2026 Top Women Lawyers list. Every year, the publication highlights women attorneys in California who have made significant contributions to their clients, firms and the legal profession.
With 30 years of specialized expertise in water law, Hastings represents all water users (water providers and the businesses that use water) across a range of transactional and litigation matters. She has played a leading role in California’s most complex and precedent-setting water matters. She brings sophisticated legal skill and experience to the acquisition, maintenance and protection of water resources and rights.
As chair of the board of The Aquaya Institute, Hastings is dedicated to advancing global health through universal access to safe water. She is also a co-founder of the H2O Women Conference—empowering and inspiring women to improve the way we manage California’s and the world’s most valuable and vital natural resource.
In her Daily Journal profile, she explains how co-founding the conference has influenced her work.
“That experience directly shaped how I approach the business of law: developing teams, identifying emerging leaders and creating structures that strengthen both the legal services we provide to our clients and the firm over time,” she said.
