Background

Ben Markham brings a background of legal analytics and environmental strategy to his natural resource practice. His previous work includes assisting in drafting of criminal and civil appellate opinions and federal trial court orders, conducting research on state and national constitutional concerns, composing memorandum on land use issues and reviewing court documents on a variety of legal matters.

While in law school, Ben served as a judicial extern for Justice Andrea Hoch with the Third District Court of Appeal, and for Judge Troy L. Nunley with the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of California. He also clerked with the Sacramento City Attorney’s Office where he worked on a diverse range of municipal legal matters. Before starting law school, Ben served as a Type I firefighter, joining an elite unit to fight wildfires in the western United States, giving him firsthand knowledge of the forestry in the region.
