Reema Nandy’s experience in both the public and private sectors makes her a particularly effective commercial litigator. In her practice, Reema handles a wide variety of complex commercial disputes for clients in federal and state courts. Leveraging her years of experience in both the civil and criminal context, she consistently achieves successful outcomes for clients, whether through settlement negotiations, motions practice or trial. A wide range of clients across the banking, manufacturing and automotive industries rely on Reema’s experience, expertise and judgment to navigate litigation matters impacting their business.

She efficiently handles complex legal issues from beginning to end, developing creative strategies to solve her clients’ challenges. During her criminal practice as a senior trial attorney, Reema tried cases before juries, addressed various evidentiary matters and managed hundreds of cases. Recent Experience

  • On behalf of residential mortgage lenders, obtained summary judgment on claims by borrowers asserted under the Truth in Lending Act (TILA),Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Home Loan Protection Act (HLPA) and the New Mexico Unfair Practices act.  

  • Obtained dismissal of unjust enrichment and prima facie tort claims at pleadings stage before discovery in case commenced.

  • Obtained judgment on the pleadings in lawsuit against former commercial customer on a dispute regarding unpaid amounts under a contract for the sale and delivery of products.

  • Successfully secured partial dismissal of claims asserted by commercial tenant against commercial landlord client.

  • Counsel to a limited liability company and certain members in action brought by former member in defense of claims for declaratory judgment and breach of fiduciary duty. After successfully obtaining summary disposition on issues relating to the real party in interest and overcoming competing dispositive motions on counterclaims, we were able to settle the case on favorable terms for our clients.

  • Trial counsel to telecommunications provider, in defense of lawsuit filed by property owner claiming damages purportedly incurred as a result of buried line installed, owned, and operated by client. Successfully obtained dismissal with prejudice and an award of attorneys’ fees after bench trial.
