Background
Chris Lay tracks critical domestic and international developments to bolster Brownstein’s Defense and National Security and Appropriations practices. He produces insightful analyses based on thorough research relating to the issues clients care about. He works on matters regarding national security, congressional budgeting and spending, and artificial intelligence (AI).
Previously, Chris worked in international security consulting, advising clients on investments based on Transatlantic and Pacific geopolitical events. This built on his time with the Department of State where he produced presentations and briefs on the effects of emerging technologies on foreign policy and at American University where he lectured on the intersection of AI national security. Chris has also served as a researcher with NATO Special Operations Component Command – Afghanistan and the Brussels based think tank, Security Europe.
Chris is currently pursuing the Executive Diploma in Artificial Intelligence for Business at Oxford University.
