Colin Oldberg helps businesses navigate complex matters involving federal income tax, tax-exempt entities, state and local taxation and federal tax controversy, including tax compliance at the state and federal levels.
He advises clients on a variety of business tax decisions involving federal tax credits, mergers and acquisitions, sales and use tax considerations for asset transactions, structure and formation of tax-exempt entities, federal transfer pricing issues involving cost-sharing arrangements between multi-national corporations, federal and state income tax penalty abatement, analysis of payroll compliance issues and correction steps, state and local voluntary compliance regimes, and state property tax assessments. He also has experience in matters involving federal and state income taxation of partnerships and other pass-through entities.
Prior to Brownstein, Colin was a tax associate at a large corporate law firm and, prior to that, a law clerk for Judge Anthony J. Navarro of the Colorado Court of Appeals, drafting civil and criminal judicial opinions.
